Sunday poetry with gluten free cakes: “Home sweet home” cake
"Mid pleasures and palaces though we may roam, Be it ever so humble there's no place like home!"
There is no place like home! NO, there is not! The love, warmth, comfort and its very characteristic smell make home the most beloved and irreplaceable shelter. That is the very reason that as soon as we get home, we say it out loud with pride ′′Home sweet home”, especially when we live a gluten-free life in Albania. Insecurities, fear and doubt are the very typical emotions that occupy our mind that maybe the food we ate outside may have been contaminated with gluten. While at home we feel secure. We know very well that our dearest will make sure make sure that the table is filled with delicious dishes, where the gluten free aroma of boundless love prevails and it only comes very naturally to us to scream loudly “home sweet home".
In fact, this expression, which sounds thousands of years old, was first used in 1832 by John Howard Payne (1791-1852). He was a playwright, actor, editor, writer and the author of the expression ′′Home sweet home ". John spent his whole life on the run, avoiding debts, which he couldn't pay off by weaving verses. But the expression ′′Home sweet home” has remained immortal. He would never have thought that this expression would become so popular, inspiring writers, directors, composers or simple people like us to create works or cook cupcakes with the same name, of course gluten free.
